Driving Directions

Providence Place is located in South Minneapolis in the Standish Ericcson neighborhood just north of Lake Nokomis and Minnehaha Falls, and south of the Powderhorn area. It is conveniently situated across the street from The Waters of Minnehaha, our sister community that provides assisted living, memory care, and enhanced care suites.

From the North and East:

  • Providence Place is located just west of Hiawatha Avenue (Highway 55)
  • Take the 38th Street exit (going West) for about 7 blocks until 23rd Avenue
  • Providence Place is located at the intersection of 38th Street and 23rd Aveune

From the West:

  • Take E. 38th Street until 23rd Avenue
  • Turn left on 23rd Avenue
  • Providence Place is located at the intersection

From the South:

  • From the Crosstown Highway (62), take the N Cedar Avenue exit
  • Then turn right on E. 38th Street
  • Turn left on 23rd Avenue
  • Providence Place is located at the intersection

Public Transportation

By Light Rail

  • Take the Hiawatha Light Rail to the 38th Street Station
  • Walk .46 miles west or take Bus 22 or 23 west along 38th Street

By Bus

  • Take either Bus 22 or 23 and stop at the intersection of E. 38th and 23rd Avenue
  • All east/west routes in South Minneapolis connect with the Hiawatha Light Rail line

By Bicycle

  • The Midtown Greenway is located nearby, providing a paved, off road bike path that runs east/west through South Minneapolis (paralleling 28th Street)
  • This connects the Mississippi River trails to Highway 169 in Hopkins, passing Lake Calhoun along the way
  • The Greenway intersects with the river trails at its easternmost point, the Hiawatha Light Rail trail (to downtown) at Hiawatha Avenue, and bicycle lanes at Park Avenue and Portland Avenue
  • The trail continues into Southwest Minneapolis, intersecting the Chain of Lakes paths via connector at Lake Calhoun, and the Cedar Lake Bikeway as well as the Southwest Light Rail line in Hopkins
