Planting Our Tower Garden

Schedule a Tour

Providence Place is excited to introduce our new Tower Garden! In June, Residents planted a variety of vegetables and herbs and are anxiously watching the seeds grow into beautiful, nutritious food. With our Tower Garden system, we will be able to grow healthy foods indoors, year- round. The  planter is an aeroponic growing system (no dirt!), which does not require harmful pesticides or fertilizers. This method of growing produces food 3 times faster, so we can enjoy our harvest in just a few weeks. If you are interested in learning more about the Tower Garden system, visit their website at www.towergarden.com.

Did you know that fruits and vegetables start to lose nutrients after being harvested? In addition to enjoying produce at its height of nutritional quality and taste, there are many benefits to growing your own food. These include reducing your carbon footprint, saving money on groceries, and including more fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Gardening has many health benefits as well including physical exercise, decreased stress levels, and increased self esteem. When our plants reach maturity, Residents will harvest them and use the fresh ingredients to prepare healthy treats like salads, pesto, and salsa.
